These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BudgetVault mobile application ("the App"), published by 21DigitalAI ("we", "us"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the rules of the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play).

2. Trial Period

The App includes a 30-day free trial beginning on first launch. During the trial, all features are available at no cost. Trial length is measured locally on your device.

3. Lifetime Unlock (In-App Purchase)

After the trial ends, a one-time purchase called Lifetime Unlock is required to continue using write-access features (such as adding or editing budgets and expenses). Read-only access to your existing data remains available at all times.

• Price: Shown in the App's unlock screen in your local currency. You will see the exact price before confirming the purchase.
• Billing: Purchases are made through Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your payment details.
• Entitlement: The unlock is a non-consumable in-app purchase tied to your Apple ID or Google account.
• Device coverage: You may use the unlock on any device signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account that made the purchase, using the "Restore purchase" button in the App.
• Refunds: Refunds are handled by the store you purchased from, per their refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.

4. Your Data

All budget and expense data is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for backing up your data. The App offers an optional Google Drive backup; see our Privacy Policy for details.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App.
• Use the App in violation of any applicable law.
• Circumvent the trial period or unlock mechanism.

6. Not Financial Advice

BudgetVault is a tracking tool. Any summaries, charts, or insights shown in the App are informational only and do not constitute financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for the financial decisions you make.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data will be preserved or recoverable.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 21DigitalAI and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of your use of or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Lifetime Unlock in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to the App and Terms

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to 21DigitalAI's place of business, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
