BudgetVault
Last updated: April 16, 2026
Overview
BudgetVault ("the App") is a personal finance app that helps you track budgets and expenses. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App stores, how it is used, and what happens when you make an in-app purchase.
Data Collection
The App does not collect, transmit, or share your financial data with us or any third party. All budget and expense data stays on your device.
- Budgets, expenses, categories: Stored locally on your device in a private SQLite database.
- App settings: Stored locally on your device.
- No accounts: The App does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use its core features.
- No analytics: The App does not include analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
Optional Google Drive Backup
The App offers an optional feature to back up your data to your own Google Drive account.
- You must explicitly enable this feature and sign in with Google.
- Backups are written to your Drive in the app's own
appDataFolder, which is private to the App and not visible in your normal Drive file list.
- Neither we nor any third party can read these backups. Only your signed-in device running BudgetVault can access them.
- You may disable backup or delete your Drive data at any time from the App settings or directly from your Google account.
If you never enable this feature, no data ever leaves your device.
In-App Purchases
The App offers a one-time "Lifetime Unlock" purchase to remove the trial-period limits.
- Purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). BudgetVault never sees your payment details.
- Entitlement is verified on-device using the platform's standard purchase-restoration APIs (StoreKit 2 on iOS, Play Billing on Android).
- We do not operate any server that stores purchase records. Your entitlement is tied to your Apple ID / Google account through the platform's own receipts.
- If you reinstall the App or switch devices using the same Apple ID / Google account, you can restore your purchase from the App's unlock screen.
Network Access
The App uses network access only for the features you explicitly enable:
- Google Drive backup (if you turn it on).
- In-app purchase verification via the operating system's payment services (Apple / Google).
No other network requests are made.
Data Storage & Deletion
All app data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App removes all local data. To delete any Google Drive backup, either use the "Delete cloud backup" option in the App, or remove BudgetVault's app-data from your Google Drive settings.
Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services only when you actively use them:
- Google Sign-In & Google Drive API — for the optional backup feature.
- Apple StoreKit / Google Play Billing — for the optional Lifetime Unlock purchase.
These services are governed by their own privacy policies.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
