StringLab
Last updated: June 2, 2026
StringLab ("the App") is a chromatic and instrument tuner for guitar and bass. We are committed to your privacy. This policy explains what data the App handles and where it goes. The short version: the App processes microphone audio entirely on your device to detect pitch — that audio is never recorded, stored, or transmitted, and the App has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking.
Tuning requires access to your microphone. When you are tuning, the App listens to your instrument and analyzes the sound in real time, on your device, to estimate the pitch. The audio is processed locally and discarded immediately — it is not recorded, not saved, and not sent to us or anyone else. The microphone is only active while a tuner screen is open and listening.
The App stores the following locally on your device (in standard app storage). It is never transmitted to us:
StringLab Pro is an optional one-time purchase. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store (StoreKit). The App receives only your entitlement status (whether Pro is active) so it can unlock the corresponding features. We do not collect, see, or store your payment details, card information, or Apple ID. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated within the App or on this page.
